Turkey Tourist Visa for Indian Passport Holders

Planning a trip to Turkey? Indian passport holders are required to obtain a Tourist Visa before travelling. Depending on eligibility, Indian citizens may apply for an e-Visa or a Sticker Visa. The e-Visa is available only to Indian ordinary passport holders who hold a valid visa or residence permit issued by a Schengen country, the United States, the United Kingdom, or Ireland and meet other eligibility requirements. Applicants who do not qualify for the e-Visa must apply for a Sticker Visa through the Turkish Embassy/Consulate via its authorized visa application centre.

Applicants generally need the following documents:

Original passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended stay
Completed visa application form
Recent passport-size photographs
Cover letter explaining the purpose of travel
Confirmed round-trip flight reservation
Hotel booking or invitation letter from the host in Turkey
Detailed day-wise travel itinerary
Last 3–6 months bank statements
Income Tax Returns (ITR), if applicable
Employment proof (leave approval, employment letter) or business registration documents
Travel medical insurance covering the entire stay
Proof of sufficient financial means
For e-Visa applicants: Valid visa or residence permit from a Schengen country, USA, UK, or Ireland (as applicable)
Additional documents may be requested by the Embassy or Consulate

Processing Time

e-Visa: Usually processed within 24–48 hours
Sticker Visa: Approximately 10–15 working days
Applicants should apply at least 3–4 weeks before their intended travel date.
